TYRIAN is a 501C3 inter-spiritual network whose mission is to empower creativity, healing & peace making.
We are an intentional learning community founded in the year 2000 on Kelley's Island/Ohio and dedicated to Brigid, both the goddess and the saint. We named the organization for the tyrian color of Brigid's legendary mantle.
To support
Creativity
we select an artists to honor with the annual TYRIAN Artist Award. In 2002 we began restoration of the TYRIAN Oasis, rumored to have been an underground railroad stop on Cleveland's West Side and consecrated the home in 2003 as an "Urban Ashram" in Ohio City. In 2010 we added the Irene Sukle Art Teacher Award which is awarded every 3-5 years. furthermore we continue to dream about developing "Singing Cedars" a community of Cultural Creatives & Compassionate Contemplatives on the 10 acres surrounding Himmelblau House on Kelly's Island's NE shore.
Health
we are in partnership with natural healers like Gloria Savage founder of Arc Ancient & Darla Sedlacek founder of "Ride the Wave". Furthermore members of TYRIAN were instrumental in helping Mary Jo Ruggieri grow the Columbus amd Cleveland Polarity Schools as well as The Ohio Institute of Energetic Studies
Peacemaking
In partnership with women in Kildare / Ireland, Brigid's birthplace and Sacred Space in Celeveland,Ohio we sponsored a Brigid Peace Festival every year until 2007. Furthermore Tyrian supports the formation of a U.S.Peace Department, the Ohio Commission of Conflict Resolution, The TriC peace education efforts and and periodically host Peace Forums with Nobel Peace Prize Winners.
The TYRIAN Oasis 2003-2011
The TYRIAN Oasis was designed by Christopher Diehl and renovated by XBX Building Company. It was completed in 2004 and was envisioned as a Teaching Lodge/Ashram and an Urban Hermitage as well as the TYRIAN headquarter. It functioned in that capacity until 2011.
It was located at the corner of John & 44th Street in Ohio City on Cleveland's West Side and dedicated to the Woman at the Well in Christian scripture. (John 4:4-22) At the Oasis we offered workshops & seasonal liturgies to our members,friends and partners.
In 2011 we moved all Oasis activities to Himmelblau House 337 Shannon Rd Kelleys Island 43438 where we sponsors summer meditation retreats and yoga training and host a wide variety of gatherings to empower our mission goals. In NE Ohio we preside at "Liturgical Improvisations" every First Saturday at private homes and continues to participate in

Dagmar Braun Celeste, author and longtime Life Balance coach is TYRIAN's executve director in residence at Himmelblau House where she provides life coaching and spiritual direction based on The TYRIAN Way an inter-spiritual horarium/ handbook she developed following her ordination in 2002.
